We are looking for an experienced Technical Artist to serve as the vital connection between our artistic vision and the technical production pipeline. In this role, you'll collaborate with animators, 3D artists, and developers to support workflows, create tools, optimise performance, and maintain visual fidelity in Unity.

Helping to bring a diverse range of AI-powered, hand-crafted 3D characters to life. Built entirely in-house using industry-standard tools and the PBR pipeline, these characters are designed for expressive, real-time interaction.

The ideal candidate proactively seeks opportunities to elevate the look and feel of the project, embraces constructive feedback, and thrives in a highly collaborative and open environment. This is a great opportunity to be part of a growing team and make an impact early on.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop, implement and optimise shaders and lighting setups using Shader Graph and Unity systems.
  • Support facial animation pipelines, including viseme systems, blend shapes, and lip-sync implementation.
  • Integrate and optimise 3D models, rigs, and animations within Unity, ensuring asset integrity and performance.
  • Create custom tools and scripts to streamline workflows for artists.
  • Troubleshoot technical asset issues and continuously improve the art delivery process.
  • Provide feedback and guidance to other team members on technical issues and art production techniques.
  • Author and maintain documentation for asset production.
Required Skills & Experience:
  • Minimum of 4 years' experience working as a Technical Artist within Unity.
  • Demonstrable experience working in real-time production environments (e.g. games, interactive media, VR/AR).
  • High proficiency with asset workflows, lighting, optimisation within Unity.
  • Experience setting up post-processing effects in Unity (e.g. bloom, colour grading, depth of field), with particular focus on volume-based workflows. Familiarity with Unity's High-Definition Render Pipeline (HDRP) preferred.
  • Strong skills in shader development (Shader Graph) and visual effects.
  • Understanding of animation pipelines, including rigging, blend shapes, and viseme integration.
  • A strong understanding of the latest 3D art production workflows and techniques (PBR, real-time optimisation, asset pipelines).
  • Proficiency in asset optimisation for real-time constraints and performance.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and cross-disciplinary collaboration skills.
Desirable:
  • Scripting experience in C#
  • Technical Animation Skills (Rigging, skinning, scripting)
  • Familiarity with Unity animation systems such as blend trees and state machines.
  • Experience creating tools in Maya or Blender.
  • Experience with version control and real-time profiling tools.
